What's your Favorite Color of Sundae?

Whew! What a week I’ve had! We are leaving in the wee hours of the morning tomorrow to travel to our annual religious conference and having to pack everything for a 5 year old and a 1 year old…well anyone with small kids trying to go on vacation totally understands what I’m talking about! LOL! But we will enjoy the time with my hubby—he waits all year long for this so he can spend 14 solid days with us! We think it’s funny that it’s the only time of the year his hands ever get totally clean and smooth—he’s a mechanic and farmer, so they are usually stained black! LOL!

But let’s get down to a couple of new challenges this week! Once again I’ve combined my Design Teams—something easy for you to do this week! Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog is asking you to show us your colors—your FAVORITE colors that is. We want you to use your absolute FAVORITE color combination! Once you have your creation done, make sure it has a sentiment and then enter it in our challenge this week for Sentimental Sundays! It doesn’t matter what you made—if it has a sentiment—anything goes!
The sponsor for Paper Sundaes is the very colorful

One randomly drawn participant will win their very own ProMarkers! I’m oh so jealous as I don’t own a single one!

So the big question…what ARE my favorite colors to craft with? When it boils down to it, my #1 go color is anything earthy and autumn! I love earthy colors—the warm browns, reds, browns, gold, rust…I love then to craft with AND they are favorite colors to wear! So here is what I came up with to showcase these fabulous colors.
This card is a Double Z Fold card—you can find the tutorial HERE—and it’s very easy to make! I decided to go with my Autumn Meadows paper by Stampin Up. It’s sadly now retired which is a bummer because I just love it! I used Taken with Teal to be my bold color to set off these autumn tones--which since it's a pain in the BOOTY to photograph you can't tell that it's teal and NOT turquoise. Sigh. This beautiful image is called Moody for Fall and she’s just ONE of the many gorgeous ladies in the Moody Girl collection by Paper Makeup Stamps. I cut her out with the Large Scallop Oval and then sponged the edges with a mixture of inks to give it the distressed look and to darken the Very Vanilla paper. I went over the leaves using my Gold Spicca to give just a touch of shine.

The sentiment  (fom Joy for the Journey) is by Verve stamps and I used Verve’s A Cut Above Charming Oval set to showcase it. I went above and beyond my normal by stitching my panels. I tied the card together with a beautiful chocolate grosgrain ribbon. The inside opens and has just a simple panel for a message.

I can’t WAIT to send this card out because I know that it will brighten someone’s day!

Come share YOUR FAVORITE COLORS with us at Paper Sundaes and remember that ANYTHING GOES w/a sentiment at Sentimental Sundays!
